KONN™ Precast Concrete Wall Panels: High-Performance Architectural Cladding

One of the primary benefits of our architectural precast concrete panels is their high strength-to-weight ratio. They weigh approximately 5 to 6 lbs per square foot. Because they are so lightweight compared to traditional 2-inch thick concrete, they typically do not require specialized structural reinforcement, making them an ideal lightweight concrete wall panels exterior solution for both new builds and renovations.

KONN prefab concrete panels are designed for efficiency. They can be installed using mechanical fasteners (screws and clips) or high-strength construction adhesives, depending on the substrate. Because they are only 1/2″ thick, they can be cut on-site using standard masonry tools with diamond blades, significantly reducing the labor costs typically associated with industrial concrete wall panels.

Our precast concrete cladding panels are engineered for low maintenance. During production, the panels are treated to be highly resistant to water absorption and staining. They are UV stable, meaning the color will not fade under harsh sunlight. For exterior applications, an occasional power wash with low pressure is usually all that is required to keep the concrete facade panels looking new.

Absolutely. While they are rugged enough for concrete wall panels exterior use, their refined texture makes them a favorite for interior “money features.” They are frequently used as interior concrete wall panels for feature walls, lobbies, and fireplace surrounds due to their heat resistance and modern, industrial aesthetic.

Due to their high-end aesthetic and non-combustible fire rating, these panels are a popular choice for interior feature walls and fireplace surrounds. Their 1/2-inch thickness makes them easy to integrate with standard drywall and interior trim without taking up excessive floor space.

KONN™ panels are made from Ultra-High Performance Concrete (UHPC) and GFRC, which have a much higher density than standard concrete. This density prevents water from penetrating the surface, which is the leading cause of cracking in cold climates. Our precast concrete wall panels are tested to withstand extreme Canadian freeze-thaw cycles without spalling or structural degradation.

In the Canadian market, high-performance concrete cladding is a premium investment. While initial costs (averaging $35–$55/sq. ft. installed) are higher than fiber cement or aluminum, the zero-maintenance lifecycle and “through-body” color of our UHPC panels provide a significantly higher long-term ROI for commercial and luxury residential properties.

Yes. Our panels are engineered to meet and exceed OBC requirements. They are Class A non-combustible and have been tested for the extreme freeze-thaw cycles and wind loads specific to the Canadian climate. We provide full technical data sheets (TDS) and LEED documentation upon request.
